Building Access Guidelines During COVID-19 Pandemic

Guidelines for Groups using First Presbyterian Church

As we begin to re-open our building, I wanted to let you know what we’re doing as a church, and what we need to ask your group to do when you are using our facility. Keep in mind that we are limited to groups of 15 people for inside gatherings (amended October 13, 2020) and 25 for outside gatherings.

What we are doing:

1.     Session has decided not to hold in-person worship services through December 2020 – we will re-evaluate again in December to make a decision about the winter of 2021. WE plan to re-evaluate on a month to month basis.

2.     Our custodial staff has continued to clean and sanitize all areas of the church.

3.     We have adequate supplies of hand sanitizer, wipes and other cleaning supplies.

4.     Our church office is available by appointment (call the number posted on the door to gain entrance) on Monday and Wednesday (amended 10/15/2020).

5.     In the office, we have markers on the floor to indicate proper social distance and we have installed a Plexiglas screen to protect our staff.

What we ask of your group:

1.     Wearing a mask inside the church during your activity is mandatory.

2.     Please use hand sanitizer upon entering and exiting the building. This will be made available on tables inside the doors.

3.     Maintain social distance of at least 6 feet.

4.     Please wipe down the areas where your activity has taken place when you are done. Wipes will be provided.

5.     We are currently letting groups use the Social Hall, the Sanctuary and our downstairs Multi-Purpose Room. Our other rooms are too small to properly social distance and provide adequate ventilation. You will need to check with the church office to make sure of your day and time and room assignment.

6. We strongly encourage your group to limit the length of your meeting to one (1) hour. The longer you meet face to face, the more the risk increases.

Thank you for your cooperation with First Presbyterian’s effort contain the spread of the COVID-19 virus.

Peace,
