Youth Ministries
“Youth Group”
The FPC Youth Group is comprised of 6th-12th grade students. Now that the acute phase of the COVID pandemic is past, we’re experimenting with different options in terms of when to meet, how often, where, etc. Please call the church 507-282-1618 to get the most current meeting information. Also check our Facebook page devoted to Youth activities (click here).
Aside from those details, our purpose for Youth Fellowship is to engage in a variety of activities including discussing the Bible, working on service projects for the church and local community, playing games, and just having fun together! Any youth from the Rochester community and surrounding areas is welcome to join in the fun. Church membership is NOT REQUIRED to attend! It’s also open to friends of FPC youth members.
Throughout the year the youth group offers special events, outings, and community service projects. In the past these events have included:
Visit to a local apple orchard (Fall)
Snowtubing at Ironwood Springs (Winter)
Helping host & serve the Annual FPC Easter Brunch
River tubing (Zumbro or Root River)
Lock-in with other area youth
Service Projects (previously: Feed My Starving Children and Sole Hope)
Outings to Escape Rooms, Bowlocity, and the movies!
Connect with the Youth Group on Facebook, learn more, or see the church calendar of events.
If you have any questions about youth programming, please contact us via email or call (507) 282-1618.
Sunday Mornings
Both the Nursery Room and Kids Zone are open Sunday mornings during the church services and education hour.
Nursery Room (E203)
The Nursery Room is designed for children from infants through 3 years old. First Presbyterian Church has supervised nursery care available during Sunday morning worship services and the FPC Education hour. Brenda and her assistants provide a safe and welcoming environment for our young children.
Children’s Activity Room (E206)
The Children’s Activity Room, "Kids Zone", is open for young children, 3 to 8 years old. Parents can bring their children to this room before the church service or children can attend the first part of the worship service and come to Kids Zone after the children’s sermon.
Children's Activity Bags
There are activity bags for children located near all of the Sanctuary doors. The bags contain coloring books, crayons, and other items to keep busy children engaged during the church service. Please return the bags after the church service.
Sunday School
Sunday School is offered during the school year (September-May) for Pre-K through 12th grade youth.
Vacation Bible School
Vacation Bible School is offered for one week during the month of June for youth entering Kindergarten through 5th grade. For more information scroll back up to the “Ministries” tab at the top of this page and click on “Faith Formation”.
