Nurture & Growth

The Nurture and Growth Team consists of the Christian Education committee, the Worship and Music Committee, the Welcoming and Nurturing Committee, and the Deacons. The ministries of these committees correspond with stated goals of the mission of FPC to nurture the members of the church with a strong worship experience and compassionate pastoral leadership; encourage active participation in worship by individuals and families; strengthen faith and commitment by promoting vital Christian education, music, and fellowship programs for all ages; be a caring church community that ministers to individual needs; and to recognize our unique opportunity to minister to the spiritual needs of visitors to the Medical Center.
Christian Education
The Christian Education Committee is responsible for all Christian education activities that take place in the church, with the exception of the educational components and value of the youth and adult music programs. The non-music Youth Ministry also comes under this committee’s view.
Welcoming and Nurturing
Welcoming and Nurturing Committee seeks to build and nurture fellowship within the congregation, support member opportunities for involvement in our life together, oversee new member reception and integration, and maintain the church rolls. We reach out to: our community through personal involvement, our guests through visitation, to prospective members through inquirers’ classes and to our members through small groups, all-church activities, and retreats
Worship and Music
Worship and Music Committee works with the pastors and music staff to provide for the Saturday and Sunday worship services, the preparation of all our choirs vocal and bell, the Choir School program on Wednesdays and the care, maintenence and preparation of the sanctuary worship space.
