Sunday Morning Worship Services
On the First Day of the Week – The Lord’s Day we gather such as we are, to praise, thank, apologize, and profess. We listen for God to speak from the Bible, and in the interpreted Word of preaching. We respond to God’s word with prayer and offering, praise and thanks. Baptism and the Lord’s Supper highlight the nature of our community. As we leave, we go to serve the world God loves charged to obedience and blessed with Christ’s promised presence.
Special Worship Services
We also gather to worship at other times. We gather for weddings to make public our marriage promises. When death comes we commend to God our sisters and brothers and proclaim an eternal promise. We mark the special times of Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday and Maundy Thursday as the seasons of the church year come and go
Communion
The Sacrament of the Lord’s Supper sustains and nourishes the faith community in the baptismal journey. We practice an open communion in the Presbyterian Church (USA). All baptized believers are welcome at the table. Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of every month at both services
Baptism
We encourage parents to present their children to receive the Sacrament of Baptism. In this sacrament we rejoice that God has claimed each one of us in our birth and that we have been marked as Christ’s own. Parents commit themselves with the help of the congregation to raise their children to know and love the Lord. Adults who have not made a Profession of Faith are invited to do so and receive the Sacrament of Baptism as a sign of the new way in which God is at work in their lives.
